General Description:
Responsible for developing, evaluating and maintaining functions related to testing of products at the module and unit level. The Test Engineer will spend a considerable amount of time on the production floor supporting current and new products. This position will recommend and develop test philosophy and procedures on new products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recommends production test methodology.
• Designs and oversees test fixture construction.
• Investigates and recommends product improvements to reduce rework and failure costs.
• Reviews product designs for testability.
• Assists production in troubleshooting and/or analysis of in-process defective assemblies.
• Assists in working with key suppliers on formulating test requirements.
• Participates in integrated product team activity on new products.
• Participates and contributes in the Quality Improvement Process
• Care for company assets.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Performs duties as assigned.
Competencies for Position:
Education / Experience:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience. Minimum three years of experience in electronic testing with a solid electronics background. Test development experience with RF based products is a plus. Sound knowledge of theory and development of testing techniques. Ability to communicate technical concepts to peers and engineering staff in both verbal and written form.
Physical / Mental Demands:
• Ability to organize work efficiently and establish priorities.
• Ability to lift, operate and instruct others in the use of tools and test equipment.
• Ability to independently construct and evaluate prototypes using hand and power tools.
