Mainstream Engineering Corporation, a solutions-oriented, research, development, and manufacturing business founded in 1986, is a dynamic, mid-sized company (90+ employees) located in Rockledge, Florida. Its Engineering Mission is to research and develop emerging technologies, and to engineer these technologies into superior quality, military and private sector products that provide a technological advantage. Areas of expertise include thermal control, energy conversion, turbomachinery, chemical-based technologies, and materials science. Mainstream Engineering is looking for Electrical Engineers with a strong background in any of the following areas: power conversion, power generation, electro-mechanical systems, and electronic controls. We have an immediate need for engineers to develop military and commercial products as well as perform government sponsored research and development.
• Power engineers will develop electrical power generators up to 100 kW. Engineers will design, prototype, test, and evaluate permanent magnet alternators and motors to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy and vice versa. Engineers will design, layout, fabricate, and test power converters to control and regulate power from these devices.
• Controls engineers will develop electronic control equipment for thermal control and energy conversion equipment. Engineers will design, layout, fabricate, and test printed circuit boards and program controllers for a wide array of equipment. Responsibilities also include all electronics between the PCB to the mechanical equipment (starting circuits, capacitors, wire harnesses, etc.)
Experience in the following is preferred:
• High power electronics, with emphasis on DC/DC and AC/DC converters, power ranging from 2 kW to 100 kW
• High power efficient boost converters and switch mode power supplies
• Electronic control circuitry with MOSFET and IGBT switches for power converters, motor controllers, and generators
• Digital Signal Processing/Microcontroller/Microprocessor integration
• Schematic entry and PCB layout – Experience with Altium Designer preferred
• Three phase power systems
• Troubleshooting power electronics and digital electronics
• Strong understanding of EMI issues and parasitic parameters, such as stray inductance
• High voltage isolation
Minimum Requirements:
• B.S. in E.E.
• U.S. Citizen
• 3.3. GPA at all degree levels
• Available to relocate to Florida
