Seeking Experienced Electrical Engineer (power electronics) for geophysical exploration instrument development
Toronto-based geophysical company seeking experienced Electrical Engineer to join our R&D team developing power electronics for a new generation geophysical instruments. If you are passionate about designing precision equipment that needs to perform and survive in harsh environments, this is a chance to build something the way it should be, from the beginning.
Based in Toronto since 1975, our company has 50 full-time staff speaking more than a dozen languages and working all over the world. Initiative, self-reliance and co-operation are prized.
Applications must be received by 6pm EST on Friday, 08 January 2010, full-time work in Toronto starting as soon as possible in the new year.
Compensation $75,000+ CDN / year, (depending on experience), medical benefits, three weeks vacation a year, plus possible profit sharing (10% bonus in 2008).
A successful Candidate must have:
• Previous power supply development experience (be sure to indicate on resume).
• A University degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong analog circuit design and troubleshooting skills, including experience with MOSFETS, IGBTs, Bipolar transistors and magnetics
• Design experience with VHDL / FPGAs and digital control
• Familiarity with major topologies such as Buck, Boost, Flyback, Half/Full-Bridge and feedback/PWM control
• Strong English skills and ability to work in Canada legally
• Intention to build a career at Phoenix, ability to travel for two weeks+ overseas
