Cardno Acil has an opportunity for an experienced Highway Engineer skilled in Team Leadership and Project Management to join our current ADB funded Tajikistan Roads Construction Supervision Project. This ambitious 3 year project commenced in May 2008 and provides consulting services to the Tajikistan Ministry of Transport and Communications to assist in the implementation and supervision of project activities.
The position is to be based in the peaceful city of Dushanbe, with significant time spent on the road construction site in the provincial areas. The successful candidate would ideally commence in March 2010 and manage the program through to completion. This position presents a great opportunity for an expert to utilize their high level leadership and relationship building skills on a technically challenging project.
Key Selection Criteria:
At least 15 years (and 8 years in developing countries) in major road and highway project management;
Excellent record in team management and supervision;
Expertise in overseeing the development of contract and sub-contract documentation, tenders and quality control mechanisms;
Fully familiar with F้d้ration International des Ingenieurs-conseils (FIDIC) contracts;
Skills in developing monitoring and quality control systems;
Experience in donor funded engineering projects engaging public and private sector organizations;
Outstanding communication and liaison skills;
Excellent abilities in reporting, project management and budget management;
Experience and/or knowledge of ADB procedures and procurement policies;
Central Asia/South Asia Regional experience would be an advantage.
