IRD works with a wide range of governments and international donor organizations in the implementation of targeted, cost effective humanitarian relief and development aid programs worldwide.
IRD is currently seeking a Vertical Structures Team Leader for an upcoming engineering, capacity building and quality assurance monitoring project in Afghanistan, supporting the USAID Office of Infrastructure, Engineering and Energy. The candidate for this position should have extensive knowledge concerning the principles and practices of engineering in the developing world.
Required Experience:
- 15 years of relevant work experience, with at least 10 years of direct experience in engineering or the energy field; - Previous experience & knowledge of managing complex projects in the US overseas; - Previous experience working on projects in developing countries is highly desirable; - A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or equivalent is required. - Ability to express engineering and scientific judgment clearly and concisely in writing and orally; - A BS degree is required for this position (a graduate degree is preferred).
