POSITION PROFILE:
Mercantila is seeking a front-end engineering wizard with a strong proficiency in working within a large-scale web-based environment. This person will be working to develop a new and flexible platform that can scale Mercantila’s business efforts and provide more fluid interaction with Mercantila vendors and partners. The qualified candidate will have extensive hands-on experience using front-end tools and implementing UI designs of their own. Engineers are expected to deliver entire solutions in a dynamic environment with a minimal amount of supervision.
In particular, the candidate must have:
• 2+ Years Experience in consumer oriented front-end development
• Exceptional UI design coupled with CSS, AJAX, HTML/XHTML
• Ability to reach into PHP/OO design for full implementation
• Familiar with Agile Development Methodologies
• Experience in designing and implementing for usability
• eCommerce and/or Magento experience a major bonus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
In addition, the preferred candidate will have:
• An aptitude toward taking meaningful actions over following the process.
• A degree in CS, computer engineering, math or equivalent technical discipline or experience. Advanced degree in any of these areas is a plus.
