Summary Description:
The Engineer will become a member of the Teradata Application Engineering, Teradata Warehouse Miner engineering team. This organization is responsible for implementing (including the evaluation), design, construction, unit testing and support of the Teradata Warehouse Miner software solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead developer and other team members to create cross-platform consumable components within a common application framework from the current Teradata Warehouse Miner technology platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and assist in the delivery of the Teradata Warehouse Miner product line
Responsible for application design, code, unit and integration test, system test and maintenance of the Teradata Warehouse Miner product line
Design and deliver products that meet specifications; ensure high standards in programming quality, style and organization
Communicate effectively with other engineers
Analyze and troubleshoot issues and tests
Work Environment:
This position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA (San Diego). This fast-paced high tech environment is perfect for individuals seeking to exercise innovation and out of the box thinking to move our state of the art technology to the next level. This role is a working member of the team, with responsibility for the delivery of Teradata Warehouse Miner software products within the Teradata Applications Engineering organization. This includes design, implementation, unit test, integration test and system level testing.
Skills & Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
strong working knowledge of the C# programming language and Visual Studio development environment
strong working knowledge of SQL (several years of experience or equivalent academic studies required)
working knowledge of the Java programming language
knowledge of the Python interpretive programming language
working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems
written and oral communication proficiency
ability to work effectively in a team environment
strong analytical abilities involving complex software in a parallel processing environment
ability to design effective test plans for new features
ability to work independently with minimal supervision
knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics
good language skills and writing ability
ability to understand and work with complex software and understand parallel processing.
Basic Qualifications:
US Permanent Residence
Bachelors degree in Computer Science
Minimum of 4 years working experience with the C # programming language, and SQL
Experience with or knowledge of the design and construction of relational database application software
Preferred Qualifications:
MS/Computer Science is desirable
Knowledge of Java and Python are highly desirable
