Responsibilities
Develops and designs new products utilizing microprocessor and DSP technology including the writing and debugging of firmware.
Summarizes research and development work in a report and specification. Provides full project planning design team guidance.
Provides design guidance and instructs on design principles for Engineers (Levels 1 & 2).
Conducts feasibility studies and prepares preliminary cost estimates of new products and major redesigns.
Assists Manufacturing Engineering in product assembly techniques.
Qualifications
BSEE Degree from an accredited University with a minimum of 12 years experience in solid state and 8/16/32-bit microprocessor design for industrial products and systems.
8+ years experience in designing and developing products involving digital signal processing.
Must be familiarity with serial communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, and RS485 - RS232.
Solid understanding of board-level digital hardware design techniques to ensure good signal integrity and low EMI/RFI necessary for consideration.
Familiarity with designing with DSP devices such as Analog Devices Blackfin processor family.
Experience with assembly and C/C++ in developing device firmware.
Experience with EMI/RFI suppression techniques, both board and system level.
Proven track record of taking a design from concept through production in a manufacturing environment.
Good oral and written skills. Must be able to work in a small team environment where responsibilities are only limited by a person’s willingness to grow.
Signal processing and MATLAB experience a plus
Job Summary
Applies intensive, timely and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related field. Assists in making decisions on engineering problems and methods. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories and practices of own field and related sciences and disciplines. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of engineers, technicians, individual research and staff specialist. Guides large-scale project/research teams and coordinates major product designs. Primary Skills: BSEE Degree from an accredited University with a minimum of 12 years experience in solid state and 8/16/32-bit microprocessor design for industrial products and systems. Salary: Between 80,000 - 90,000 Experience Required: Professional Registration Required, 12 years minimum Clearance Level: none Travel: 0 %
